As the OE B58 style coil packs are a fantastic and well performing ignition coil from factory we still managed to reach the limit of them through simple tuning. In simple terms the OE coils can NOT hold charge for a long amount of time before releasing its energy, we used that issue to improve the upgraded coil. Dwell can be held for a longer period of time (recorded in Ms). The more energy it stores\/charge during the dwell period the more energy\/charge it releases when it comes time to fire. The larger the gap the more efficient burn you will get.
